LCpl. Brian Rory Buesing, U.S.M.C (KIA)
(reprinted from the Cedar Key News - Florida)
Private First Class Brian Buesing, 20, of Cedar Key was killed in action Sunday, March 23, 2003 serving his country in Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Private First Class Buesing, a United States Marine, was part of a team of Marines holding a bridge in Iraq when it came under attack. Further details of the incident are not known at this time.
Private Buesing was an excellent Marine who had already received several letters of commendation. His father, Roger Steve, said, "We love Brian. We are proud of him and he is a hero." Mr. Steve also commented, "Brian loved his mama more than anything in this world."
Brian graduated with me in the twenty-six-member class of 2000 at Cedar Key School. I will forever remember Brian as the fun-loving teen who sat in the desk next to me everyday in English IV. Brian was a jokester who never failed to make me laugh.
Brian was also an intelligent, sincere, and honorable young man, who knew his duty when his nation called. The United Sates of America truly lost a hero when it lost Private First Class Brian Buesing.
