Family Mourns Young Marine

Colin Wolfe grew up dancing the role of a toy soldier while dreaming of making himself a real Marine.

"He was set on the course of doing what he wanted to do -- make a difference for all of us," his father said.

This week, the the Wolfes learned their only son ... her only big brother died in Iraq, leaving a family with 19 short years of memories ... like a mom who taught her son ballet.

"He would try to be macho, but it meant a great deal to him. He would get on stage, and be just awesome," Amy Wolfe said.

As a high school senior, Colin in 2005 had the feet of a dancer and the future of a defender.

Colin's teacher was a former Marine himself, who taught a class at Osbourn High School in Manassas about the Vietnam war. Colin earned a "C" in class, and earned a higher compliment one year later.

"Before he deployed he said, coach, I'm going ... I said, Semper fidelis brother."

Now, four days before school begins, a teacher grapples with loss.

As for the Wolfe family, his mother says: "We gave our son. I know he would not want us to turn away, that would be an empty death. We need to go the full road."

Following a son who made each step count ... even if it meant he could never come home again.
