LCpl. Travis Wichlacz

Travis M. Wichlacz, Lance Cpl., 22, of West Bend entered eternal peace while fighting for his country in Iraq on Saturday, Feb. 5, 2005.

Travis was born Dec. 15, 1982 to Dennis Wichlacz and Laura Garcia in West Bend, where he was also raised.

He attended West Bend West High School, where he was a member of the football, wrestling and track teams, and dedicated his time to the Pride Program, graduating in 2002.

Travis was a member of Boy Scout Troop 721 of The Knights of Columbus of West Bend, as an Eagle Scout, Order of the Arrow member.

He entered the U.S. Marine Reserves in April of 2002.

Survivors include his wife, Angela (nee Coakley); his parents, Dennis (Virginia) Wichlacz of West Bend, and Laura (David) Garcia of Davenport, Iowa; his sisters, Sheena Wichlacz, Neva C. Hurt, Rachel and Adrianna Wellman, and Amanda Grant; his brothers, Bran C. and Harlan A. Hurt; his great-grandmother, An-geline Jagla; his grandparents, Art (Grace) Davies of Arizona, Roger (Joan) Wichlacz of West Bend, and Lester (Shirley) Smith of Florida, and his parents-in-law, Brian (Christine) Coakley.

He is further survived by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

Preceding him in death was his grandmother, Marie Wichlacz.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, Feb. 12, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Immacu-late Conception Church (Barton).

Father Jeffrey Haines will officiate, and cremation will take place at Paradise Cremation Services of West Bend, followed by interment on Monday at 11 a.m. at St. Adalbert's Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Friday at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel, 1420 W. Paradise Drive, West Bend, from 4 until 8 p.m.
