Marine From Maine To Be Laid To Rest Wednesday
A young Marine from South Portland who was killed in Iraq will be laid to rest this week. Angel Rosa was killed while conducting combat operations in the Anbar province.Having served as Private First Class in battle, he was promoted to Lance Corporal after his death.
Rosa was 21 years old and had graduated from South Portland High School where he was an outstanding athlete, serving as the captain of the soccer team.
Rosa's funeral will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart Church in Portland.
A soldier from New Hampshire, also killed in action, will be laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery Monday.
Nearly 400 people attended a memorial service Saturday for Army Specialist Justin Rollins.
Rollins, who was from Newport, New Hampshire, was killed by a roadside bomb nearly two weeks ago.
New Hampshire Governor John Lynch told the mourners that the entire state is feeling the loss of Rollins.
