Michigan man in foxhole was run over

WHITE LAKE TOWNSHIP, Mich. -- Relatives of Maj. Kevin Nave, a infantry officer who died in Iraq on Wednesday, have learned more about the circumstances of his death.

The 36-year-old Marine suffered fatal injuries when a Marine Amphibious Assault Vehicle drove over him in his foxhole, according to the Pentagon.

Nave, part of the 1st Marine Division, was not under attack at the time of the accident. His death is under investigation, the military said. He was assigned to the 3rd Battalion of the 5th Marine Regiment.

Nave is survived by his wife, Carrie; 6-year-old son, Anthony; and 5-year-old daughter, Meave.   Nave-1.jpg (26905 bytes) Marines observe a moment of silence during a service Saturday for White Lake Township's Maj. Kevin Nave, who died in Iraq, and Corpsman Michael Johnson.
