Dwight Marine dies in Iraq

DWIGHT (AP) - A 19-year-old Marine from Dwight died Thursday ‘‘from a non-hostile incident'' in Iraq, according to the U.S. Department of Defense.

The release said Lance Cpl. Raymond J. Holzhauer, 19, died in Al Anbar province, Iraq. He was assigned to the 2nd Maintenance Battalion, 2nd Marine Logistics Group, II Marine Expeditionary Force at Camp Lejeune, N.C.

The Department of Defense said Holzhauer's death is under investigation.

Holzhauer was a 2005 graduate of Dwight Township High School.

An Associated Press story said today that Dwight Schools Superintendent Dale Adams said Holzhauer played football for two years while at Dwight.

"He was very quiet and very respectful," Adams told the AP.
