Schulze, with Company F, 2nd Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, pays his

A hearse
carrying the body of Marine PFC David Burridge passes Lafayette High School on Friday
morning on its way to the cemetery. Students lined both sides of the street. A 50-foot
American flag was stretched across the street and held in place by two Lafayette Fire
Department ladder trucks. Burridge was killed in action in Iraq in early September by a
suicide bomber.

Courtney
and Brad McCormick were married just before Christmas of 2003, before Brad was deployed to
Iraq. He died in August of this year.
A portrait of 27-year-old Sgt.
Yadir Reynoso hangs in the doorway of his parents' home while his family looks over photos
and other personal mementos they have arranged around their fireplace. Reynoso died last
week while serving in Iraq.

Sgt. Trevor L. Spink, 36, was killed in Iraq Saturday. His remains arrived at the St.
Louis airport Thursday and were taken to Desloge. A brief ceremony marked the occasion,
and a full rifle detail of Marines stood by as the casket was carefully placed in the
waiting hearse.
